DEG, a full-service digital marketing agency, has boosted its strategic planning expertise with the hiring of John Stauffer as the agency’s Managing Director of Strategic Planning and Channel Strategy.

Stauffer will lead an integrated group of strategists across DEG’s practice areas — from social media, paid media, and email to ecommerce and web content management — using the agency’s extensive expertise in each channel to enhance its clients’ marketing programs. Stauffer will also oversee DEG’s extensive analytics and insights practice, which is central to DEG’s data-driven approach.

Prior to DEG, Stauffer was the Senior Director of Digital Strategy at APCO Worldwide, and spent a large portion of his career at Ogilvy. While at Ogilvy, he contributed to its global Social Planning Framework and grew the agency’s social practice across the Asia Pacific region. Throughout his career, John has worked with global brands across a range of industries, including Ford, IBM, Ikea, Kimberly-Clark, and Moet Hennessy.
